Macán Rioja DOCa – Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia
The barrel-aged Macán Rioja from the La Rioja wine region reveals a deep ruby red color in the glass, with a charming garnet hue at the rim when tilted. Swirling the glass shows the wine’s high viscosity, visible through slow-forming legs along the sides.
 
On the nose, this red wine from Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia offers a rich bouquet of dark berries—blueberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, sour cherries, and Opal cherries. Layered on top are complex aromas from its maturation in large oak barrels, such as dark chocolate, exotic spices, and black tea.
On the palate, Macán presents itself as dry, yet never harsh—rounded, smooth, and elegant. The finish is long and refined, showcasing the ripeness of the fruit and the depth of its origin in the La Rioja region.
