In the Russian River Valley, the Pinot Noir features the debut of two new vineyards that will play a significant role in future Pinot efforts. Situated within half a mile of each other, Wildrose and Sundawg Ridge Vineyards are located in the heart of the Green Valley sub-appellation, which has become DuMol's Pinot HQ. Planted with a mix of new Dijon clones and older Californian selections, these vineyards offer dark, powerful fruit, fine tannins, and striking acidity. They complement the established mature Dutton Ranch sources, known for their textured development and Pinot earthiness due to vine age. This blend highlights our focus on the Green Valley district, west of Highway 116 between Sebastopol and Occidental, where coastal influence tempers summer highs, resulting in darker fruit profiles, brighter acidity, and bolder tannin structure.
